On 31 December, I received Rapid Draw and Critical Low email alerts from Otodata for a customer's propane tank. The Statistics tab in my Portal showed that the tank level had dropped from 65% to 29% in just 24 hours.

Concerned that there might be a leak, I called the customer and explained that the tank monitor had alerted me to an unusual rate of consumption. I asked whether he could smell gas. After a pause, he replied, “My wife turned the pool heater up to 24°C yesterday to warm the pool for our New Year's Eve party and accidentally left it running all night.” Reluctantly, he concluded that he and his guests would have to forgo the pool and hot tub that evening. I told him we would come straight over to refill the tank and save the celebration. That day, Otodata was the life and soul of the party!
